A 700m2 new build facility in Enfield, North London, needed a high performance floor with excellent aesthetics. The facility is a specialist hair and beauty product warehouse with live demonstrations and other customer support areas.
What Did the Customer Want to Achieve from the Floor Installation?
- Very high aesthetics and cleanability.
- Excellent chemical and stain resistance to a range of solvents and dyes.
- Good UV resistance.
- Resistance to pallet movers and trolleys.
- Minimum number of joints in the floor.
Stonhard Single Source Solution
After detailed discussions with the Architect, KHP of Hertford, Stonhard recommended the following Stontec system.
- Abrasive blast preparation of the new concrete slab to remove laitance.
- Stonproof CT5 fibreglass reinforced crack treatment over day joints to minimize joints in the floor.
- 4mm Stonclad GS epoxy mortar overlayment.
- Stontec UTF (colour Flannel) flake topping sealed with Stontec UTF sealer to give a high gloss, UV resistant, highly decorative finish.
- Stonflex MP7 White and Silver Grey joint sealant in isolation joints to complement the floor colour.
Project was completed in six days allowing on schedule “fitting out” by Client.
