Battery Recycling Facility
Chemically Resistant Linings.
A new build, very large, state-of-the-art battery recycling facility needed an impact and sulphuric acid resistant finish to the off-loading bays and floors and walls in the containment and crusher areas.
In all the project comprised about 3,300m2 of floors and 1,100m2 of walls with coves and staircases.
What Did the Customer Want to Achieve?
- To stop any chance of sulphuric acid, which would be spilt from the car batteries during the recycling process, damaging the structure of the containment areas.
- To stop any chance of the sulphuric acid and other contaminents from leaching out of the containment areas.
- To allow the effluent in the containment area to be removed and recycled.
- To provide a floor and wall protective system which would withstand impact and forklift traffic.
- To provide a safe non-slip chemically resistant cleanable finish to the truck off-loading area.
