High-Performance Flooring for a New Chemical Production Facility

A perfume production company based in La Roquette-sur-Siagne, France, recently expanded its operations by constructing a new facility to replace its cramped existing plant. With a focus on durability, safety and hygiene, the company required a high-performance flooring solution suitable for demanding production environments.
Challenges & Customer Requirements
The customer needed a flooring system that would withstand daily forklift and pallet truck traffic, regular chemical exposure and intensive cleaning routines. The existing floor in the old plant was made of worn resin and intensive cleaning routines. Site visits were arranged to build trust and confidence and to view similar Stonhard installations. These visits reassured the customer, who then selected a colour seen on-site for the new floor.

Solution
The project scope covered 1,100 m² of flooring across corridors and all production rooms, as the new building had brand-new concrete; surface preparation involved shot-blasting the entire area to ensure complete system adhesion.
Stonhard France installed its robust epoxy mortar system, Stonclad GS, to meet the technical requirements. This system offered exceptional strength and durability for heavy mechanical loads. Stonkote HT4 Slate was applied, incorporating a texture 2 finish to improve safety and cleanability. This provided a lightly textured, slip-resistant surface ideal for frequent washdowns.
In addition to meeting performance needs, the Stonclad GS system allowed for localised correction of level irregularities, making it ideal for the slight unevenness in some concrete regions.

Installing the Stonclad GS and Stonkote HT4 system provided the new facility with a durable, slip-resistant, easy-to-maintain flooring solution tailored to the customer's operational needs. The project met functional and aesthetic expectations with proper surface preparation and high-performance materials. The customer now benefits from a safe, long-lasting surface that supports their daily processes and maintains hygiene standards in a demanding environment.
